CAD - Designing Traditions

Patterns created in response to the RISD Museum's Designing Traditions project.  I was looking to reinterpret the high contrast patterning on a traditional Javanese shoulder cloth, or slendang.  Bringing the graphic quality of these patterns to contemporary linen silhouettes, the bold and intense motifs are softened for an "everyday" look.
